Island Lake Recreation Area | Senior Portrait Session | Homeschool Grad 2022

    In May, I took Faith to Island Lake Recreation Area for her homeschool senior session. It was a blast to document this special time in her life -- especially since she and my daughter are good friends!

    When Faith and I talked about possible locations, she asked if we could go to a wild field! Absolutely, we can! After some scouting, I found this beautiful patch of grass next to a convenient public parking lot. This session goes to show that you don’t need a super fancy location to have breathtaking photos!

    Faith’s mom came to the session to support her. I always welcome parents at my senior sessions. As moral support and cheerleaders for their senior, they also double as great assistants to hold reflectors and fix fly away hair!

    To make her session unique, I brought a fun wicker chair from my home.  Having her pose with the chair rendered some very vintage-like images.  What a natural in front of the camera!  The red dress worked beautifully with the chair for some amazing feminine looks. 

    Faith was easy to pose, and she had fun with all of my suggestions. I also brought a bouquet of flowers for her to use in the session.  The flowers always add a special touch and offer a variety of poses and possibilities. 

    During our session, we used the beautiful backlight to our advantage. These photos turned out so heavenly thanks to the golden light of the sun.

    Faith is a talented violinist and shares this God-given gift with her church family.  She is also very active in her church's youth group.  One of the ways she serves the teens of her church is to lead a weekly prayer group with them. that time performing on stage must have prepared her well for the camera! She was a natural at posing for me, and she had lots of fun with my suggestions. 

    Faith is excited to continue her education at Concordia University. I know she'll do great! Keep following the Lord, Faith!

  Capturing Memories: A Family Session at Kensington Metro Park This past weekend, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing a truly remarkable family session at Kensington Metro Park . The Martin family - with fifteen family members coming together—Mom, Dad, their eleven kids, and two daughters-in-law—the session was a celebration of connection, and togetherness.   Jesse and Lydia's Magical Engagement Session at Kensington Metro Park Love was in the air this August at Kensington Metro Park , where I had the pleasure of photographing Jesse and Lydia's engagement session.
