It was special for me to get to photograph Emma as she is one of my daughter's sweet friends.  She brought the energy to this shoot with her sparkling smile and willingness to get into tall grasses, smoosh into bushes and walk through a bustling downtown!

    We decided to do two sessions for Emma -- in the fall and in the spring.  For our fall session, we headed out to Lyon Oaks County Park in Wixom. Then, in the spring, we chose Milford Central Park.

    As always, parents are welcome and encouraged to come to their senior's session.  I was delighted to have Emma's mom and sister with us.  They made great assistants with wardrobe changes, hair adjustments and even did some behind-the-scenes video for me! 

    The fall light was beautiful, and we had a great time exploring this little gem of a county park.  Working with the "cotton" puffs added a fun element to the session.  Emma brought two outfits in the fall and the blue dress was amazing against the neutral background of the field.  

    In the spring, the light always feels fresh & new.  Emma brought her graduation cap & gown, and we began the session with some great shots of her in it!  We used the bridge and the amphitheater at the park for a fun element.

    Emma changed into a casual outfit for a quick walk to downtown Milford.  The village is "quaint" and fun and vibrant!  We caught some fun shots w/ the storefronts in the background.  This is a favorite spot for sure! To give our spring session an extra bit of pizazz, I brought a bouquet of baby’s breath the graduate! It always makes for a sweet touch to the photos.

    Both sessions were positively gorgeous! I love how many different locations and poses we were able to do, and I think we definitely captured Emma's sweet personality. In the fall, she’ll be attending Oakland Community College to begin her studies in veterinary science. What a cool career choice!

Martin Family - A Family Session at Kensington Metro Park

  Capturing Memories: A Family Session at Kensington Metro Park This past weekend, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing a truly remarkable family session at Kensington Metro Park .
